After years of project preparation and negotiation, the framework agreement signed this time is another milestone since the signing of the "China Germany Economic and Technological Cooperation Forum" at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing in 2016. With the help of China's logistics center project, the potential of the Port William shipping hub will be further released, and in the future, it will be able to provide assistance from the European direction under the "the Belt and Road" initiative, especially in promoting infrastructure connectivity.

Dr. Berend Lindner, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Labour, Transport and Digitization of Lower Saxony, Germany, also fully affirmed the signing of this framework agreement: "We are pleased to see the smooth signing of this framework agreement. With the promotion of the 'China Logistics Wilhelmshaven Center' project, more goods from and to China will be loaded, unloaded and distributed at Wilhelmshaven. The investment of China's top logistics group in Lower Saxony once again proves the huge advantages of this only container deep-water port in Germany

China Logistics Co., Ltd., headquartered in Beijing, is a backbone enterprise under China Chengtong Holdings Group, a large enterprise group supervised by the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It provides comprehensive logistics services such as railway and road transportation, road railway water transportation, international freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, production and sales supply chain management, logistics finance, etc. There are currently 58 large-scale logistics parks with a total area of over 8 million square meters, making it one of the largest comprehensive logistics service enterprises in China.

The Wilhelmshaven Container Terminal is located north of the city center of Wilhelmshaven in northwestern Germany, with a water depth of 18 meters. It is the only port in Germany where ultra large container ships can dock without relying on tides. Currently, its throughput is only second to Hamburg Port and Bremerhaven Port, making it the third largest port in Germany. The port has a vast hinterland and convenient inland transportation, with highways and freight railways running from north to south directly into the port area. Meanwhile, Wilhelmshaven is also Germany's largest hub for crude oil imports and coal.
